On Top of the World.

A landmark development being built by Brymor Construction on Poole Quay has reached new heights with a ‘topping out’ ceremony.

Directors and site teams from Brymor, developer Fortitudo and contractor Woodmace signed a wall to mark construction work on ‘Vespasian’ reaching its highest point.

They performed the honours on the fourth floor of the development of 64 luxury apartments and a ground floor commercial unit.

Brymor Managing Director Mark Dyer, Fortitudo Chief Executive Richard Carr and Woodmace Group Managing Director Joshua Eiles-Clarke were among those to celebrate the milestone.

Mark said: “The topping out ceremony marked a key stage in the construction of Vespasian.

“The view from the top was breathtaking and the ceremony was a fitting way to mark the success of the scheme so far.”

He added: “Brymor, Fortitudo and Woodmace have worked closely together to create a high-quality development to breathe new life into this prominent site on Poole Quay.”

Dignitaries signed their names on the wall along with the date as part of the ceremony. The signatures will remain on the wall when it is incorporated into one of the penthouse apartments at the development.

Vespasian – named after the first Roman leader to rule Poole and Dorset – is being developed on a site occupied until 2017 by the famous ceramics and tableware manufacturer Poole Pottery.

It is due for completion in late summer/early autumn of this year.

Buyers have already reserved apartments in the first phase of the development through estate agent Savills.

Brymor has a long track record in quality residential developments, including projects for local authorities, registered providers such as housing associations and private sector customers.

Its inhouse team is able to deliver developments from conception to completion across a wide range of schemes, including low and high rise new builds, refurbishments and permitted development conversions.
