What is the role?

We are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work within our construction division.

Reporting to the Managing Surveyor, you will effectively take a lead role in achieving the set objectives for the project, whilst maximising profit and fostering a positive working relationship with the client and project team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Involvement at pre-construction stage to oversee and actively contribute toward submitted tenders.
• To support the design development function with a view to protect and enhance the commercial contribution of projects.
• To procure and manage Sub-Contractor accounts, financially and contractually.
• To secure full entitlements under the contract.
• Contribute to achieving the appropriate commercial result through the provision of accurate financial reporting.
• Contribute to the business forecasts by accurately projecting and delivering turnover and margin.
• Build and maintain effective Client and sub-Contractor relationships.
• Identify, develop where possible and communicate new business opportunities.

As the successful candidate, you will need to have relevant main contractor experience with sound technical knowledge. You will also need a good understanding of Health and Safety, Procurement, Planning and Programming procedures and be able to demonstrate excellent commercial awareness.

Using your strong communication and negotiation skills, you will be able to solve problems effectively and have the drive and ambition to successfully deliver a high quality service.

A minimum of a Higher Education Qualification in Quantity Surveying or construction as well as CSCS registered. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project is desirable.

Office and Project Co-ordinator.Down Arrow

Summary

We are currently looking for an Office and Project Co-ordinator to work within the company.

Reporting to the Training and Administration Manager, you will ensure the efficient provision of administration in a professional and friendly manner to all clients, whether from external companies or internal Brymor staff.

 Key Responsibilities Include

  •  Support the sites in preparation of the Operation and Maintenance (O & M) manuals. Instigate site visits throughout the duration of the project, prior to starting and completing the O&M, in order to exchange expectations and build rapport with site team.
  • Ensure electronic and hard copy O & M manuals are prepared, issued and filed in line with the Brymor procedure and client requirements.
  • Keep up to date with the drawing process, in order to provide cover when necessary.
  • Liaise with the suppliers and subcontractors to ensure we have the correct maintenance and operational instructions, manufacturer’s literature, drawings Conformity Certification and/or Warranty documentation.
  • Support the Administration team in the efficient delivery of the administration requirements for all sectors.
  • Identify solutions that can support the efficient running of the administration and implement them with colleagues once approved.
  • Ensure all phone and email enquiries are dealt with in an effective and timely manner.
  • Maintain office environment – manage the printers, drawing machines and associated stationary.
  • Provide Reception cover as necessary.

 

Estimator.Down Arrow

Summary

To produce accurate nett estimates in accordance with Brymor’s pre-construction procedures and principles, in order to win profitable work and help fulfil the company’s objectives.

Key Objectives (5 maximum)

  • To support the bid team to achieve tender deadlines
  • To understand rates and prices from first principles
  • To measure, bill and price works
  • To obtain and thoroughly review the most competitive quotes by engaging the supply chain and understanding current market trends
  • To identify and report on risk and opportunity / scope

Principal Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Assess Tender documentation and requirements and report findings to team
  • Develop tender strategy and continuously monitor
  • Ensure all supplementary information is in place
  • Full working knowledge of Estimating Software and ensure upgrades are understood and implemented
  • Operate within the Brymor ‘standards’ Estimating Procedures
  • Awareness of current Health & Safety requirements and changes
  • Check that completed estimates adequately allow for the net cost of the works and cover identified risks.
  • Build effective relationships to establish two-way dialogue with suppliers
  • Influence and support suppliers to innovate and achieve optimum solutions
  • Represent Brymor at tender interviews

Business Development Manager.Down Arrow

Summary

Support GBDD, pursuing leads with both existing and prospective clients, predominately concentrate on selling in the North of the Brymor area (Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire) of our regional working area

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Pursue leads with both existing and prospective clients to create PQQ & ITT opportunities
  • Attend weekly Tender Review and Preconstruction meetings
  • Manage Customer Project Reviews
  • Conduct market intelligence
  • Portal usage

 Principal Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Plan, manage and report on customer/client meetings
  • Provide and input CRM data
  • Arrange the CPR process, liaising with Op Directors and those staff conducting the survey
  • Support GBDD, pursuing leads with both existing and prospective clients
  • Contributing to the written proposal – both in terms of content and presentation, where required
  • Contributing to PR
  • Attending external marketing/networking events where required
  • Supporting marketing documentation as required.
