We were extremely proud to have been a part of this project for Smile Support and Care in Waterlooville, Portsmouth. The project involved the construction of a purpose built respite centre to provide valuable short breaks and respite care for disabled children and their families.

The single storey building offers comfortable and safe accommodation in a hotel-style setting with special features including:

  • Eight en-suite bathrooms
  • Two family apartments
  • Restaurant-style dining room
  • Sensory room
  • Games room
  • Planted gardens
  • Meadow roof
  • Rainwater recycling
  • Ground source heat pumps

Our Site Manager was awarded Construction Manager of the Year Gold Medal in the New Build & Refurbishment £3-6m category for the project.

We have also supported Smile Support and Care with several fundraising activities throughout the duration of the project including office fundraising days, help opening their first charity shop in Waterlooville together with sponsoring a sporting club dinner where we raised £5,275.
