About the project.

The base-build construction works of a new food processing facility totalling 120,000 ft² of building works split between warehouse, production and office space.

The scheme included over 230,000 ft² of external works. This was divided into goods yards, an access road, parking, soft landscaping and a stand alone energy centre.

A significant amount of value engineering was required to the scheme involving soil stabilisation of the entire building plot to significantly reduce the cart away of spoil from site and reduce the importation of large volumes of fill material.

To comply with the environmental requirements of the development, a substantial storm cell was introduced with the ability of storing 2,500m³ of water. The spoil excavated from this was treated and incorporated within the spoil stabilisation scheme.

This project forms the first phase of a wider project scope ultimately allowing the Client to consolidate their UK operations into one flagship European headquarters facility.
