Project overview.

The conversion of a steel framed three-storey office block into 53 apartments including the removal of two concrete staircases, the installation of structural steel where new openings are formed in the structural floors and forming an additional floor within the pitched roof.

About the project.

Most of the strip out works were complete prior to the commencement of the main works, the two lifts remained in place and there were minor works required to the existing
basement level that is used for car parking.

All windows were replaced with new composite windows and the curtain walling to the entrance remained untouched.

A new flat roof was constructed on top of the existing pitched roof to give an adequate ceiling height for residents from which electric roof lights and sun pipes were installed.

The new one and two-bedroom apartments all have electrical heating and a sprinkler system installed.

Externally, a new cycle store, side entrance and a ramp to the rear was constructed.

Finally, a new electric main and water main was incorporated within the contract.
