Project Overview.

Silver Sea Developments S.A.R.L. (the Employer), appointed Brymor to demolish and clear the existing site then subsequently design and construct a 75-bedroom care home, including all associated external works, drainage and services at 123 Barnes Lane, Sarisbury Green, which is a suburb of Fareham.

About the Project.

Brymor were required to gain planning approval and discharge all planning conditions as well as achieve full Building Regulations certification. The care home is also required to satisfy all requirements of the Care Quality Commission. The site is 0.8 hectares in area and contains a detached residential dwelling and garage built circa 1900’s set in gardens bounded by dense trees and planting.

The site sits to the North of Sarisbury Green village, East of Holly Hill Cemetery, West of Barnes Lane and directly opposite Sarisbury Green Infant School and the new Holly Hill Leisure Centre.

Foundations are simple concrete strip footings and pads, which are treated with clayboard due to the heavy clay soil. Ground floor construction is pot and beam with a screed topping.

Upper floors are concrete hollow core planks with screed topping and concrete staircases. External walls are a mixture of traditional masonry and both vertical and horizontal weatherboard cladding. Windows are uPVC incorporating natural ventilation and restrictors, which will be subject to planning.

Roof construction is a mixture of pitched and flat roof areas utilising timber trusses. The roof is tiled and incorporates several dormers at second floor level.
