Celebrating 25 years at Brymor!

In this month’s blog we will be hearing all about employee Barry Tull and his successful 25 years at Brymor!
“I started Brymor in 1995 so it is my 25th anniversary this year, and to be honest it has been a roller coaster of a journey. I joined as a Managing Surveyor having worked with Steve Morton at a previous company. My first years were spent in London carrying out security cleared works, working in Downing Street, Parliament, Cabinet Offices, and many other high-profile buildings.
During my time in London I was lucky enough to meet lots of high-profile individuals including Tony and Cherie Blair (who walked all over our newly varnished floor… that didn’t go down very well!) You just never knew who you would bump into!
We opened an office in Bagshot to look after the works in and around the London area and I was promoted to Special Projects Director. During my time here, we started working in Legoland Windsor and built some of the rides including Jungle Coaster, Jungle Safari and Fire Truck Challenge. Our reward was to ride the rollercoaster in the evening with private access for Brymor employees which is a great memory.
When moving back to head office my role changed to Operations Director for the fit out and refurbishment team and we carried out some interesting projects such as the fast track refurbishment of Cruise terminals for ABP, the fit-out of a Data Centre, and the refurbishment of Coral Reef Swimming Pool.
I have taken on many roles during my time when needed, for example Health and Safety Director, I am also a fully trained auditor for ISO 9001, all these roles have enabled me to travel around the UK and Europe with Brymor, some of my favourite trips have been Coventry, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. These are trips I will treasure forever.
‘What was your favourite project at Brymor?’
I have carried out a lot of exciting and interesting projects, I think my most memorable was the Marlborough College Memorial Hall project as this made me the proudest, I still have a photo hanging on my wall in my office and will forever be a great memory.
During my years I have met and worked with some incredible people who have all formed our “Brymor Family”. It is great that as I come towards the end of my career, I get to see people who have joined Brymor and have grown with the business.
Currently I am Business Development Director, and my love for the business has not changed even though my role has many times. I still come into work with the same enthusiasm each day and take great pride, it doesn’t feel like 25 years, more like 25 days!”
