Apprentice Business Development

We are currently looking for an apprentice to support our existing business development team, this exciting opportunity is for anyone looking to start a career in business development.  Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will be contributing to the day to day running of the department as well as gaining knowledge through experience.

The candidate would be expected to gain a marketing qualification sponsored by the company and be actively involved in progressing through a training plan specifically for the role.

Key responsibilities include:

Working alongside the Business Development Co-ordinator to:

  • Complete pre-qualification (PQQ) and tender bid submissions (as required)
  • Assist with marketing activities and documentation
  • Assist with events organisation
  • Assist with PR functions
  • Co-ordinate pre construction documentation (PQQ’s and tenders)
  • Assist with marketing activities/events with BD Co-ordinator support where required
  • Assist with the ordering and production of marketing materials and literature with BD Co-ordinator
  • Assist with general administration of the department, typing minutes, convening meetings and answering the phone where necessary

A minimum of GCSE’s in English & Maths grades C or above.  It is essential to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Drawing Coordinator

A vacancy has arisen in our administration team to be responsible for administering the flow of company drawing documents and any associated documents, to ensure that colleagues and customers receive accurate documentation in a timely manner, according to the demands of construction programmes.  You will also be responsible for general administration within the department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage all drawing emails received, in line with the drawing procedure.
  • Print, file and issue drawings as required, ensuring the revised versions are stored on the server.
  • Ensure all drawing registers and issue sheets are updated and issued to the relevant parties.
  • Update sharefile where appropriate and ensure this mirrors the server in line with Quality procedures.
  • Keep up to date with sharefile and ensure it is used to its full potential to maximise efficiency when sharing information with clients/subcontractors.
  • Keep up to date with the O&M process, in order to provide cover when necessary.
  • Coordinate the archiving for the project files, drawings and other documentation as required in line with quality procedures.
  • Prepare health & safety files if required by site team.
  • Co-ordinate and book any accommodation or training lunches as requested by the Training Manager and site teams.
  • Arrange security clearance if necessary for site teams.
  • General day to day administrative functions, typing minutes, letters and answering the phone

As the successful candidate, it would be desirable to have had construction background but not essential. You will need a good understanding of Microsoft office applications and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Accuracy is key in this role so attention to detail is essential.   A minimum of GCSE’s in Maths and English, C or above.


A vacancy has arisen for an Estimator to join the Preconstruction Department.  Reporting to the Pre-construction Director, you will produce accurate estimates on time for adjudication and to negotiate successful tenders through to hand-over with the delivery teams, to enable the Company to fulfil its business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and assessing the tender documentation and requirements to enable production of successful tenders
  • Producing accurate net estimates with full breakdowns for adjudication.
  • Identifying and report on risk and opportunity/scope
  • Making sure that tenders take in to account health and safety, quality and environmental legislation as well as compliant with Brymor policies and procedures
  • Seeking value engineering and advantage through tender process
  • Selecting suppliers / sub-contractors from the approved list and obtain quotations on a like for like basis
  • Maintaining communications and consult with the selected suppliers / sub-contractors during the tender period
  • Attending mid-tender meetings with client / professional team and carry out site surveys/visits as required

Quantity Surveyor’s (all levels)

A vacancy has arisen for Quantity Surveyor’s to assist other members of the surveying team working on Brymor projects.  Reporting to the managing surveyor, you will effectively assist in providing financial and contractual control on all allocated projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To be mentored by a Quantity Surveyor to learn the role, responsibilities and duties of being a Quantity Surveyor
  • To assist in managing Subcontractors/Suppliers accounts, financially & contractually to secure full entitlements under the contract.

To assist in the management and planning of cost and value associated with all types of construction project.

As the successful candidate, it is desirable to have contractor experience with some technical knowledge.  It would also be desirable to have a basic understanding of Health and Safety, Procurement, Planning and Programming procedures and be able to demonstrate an some commercial awareness.  Using communication and negotiation skills, you will be able to assist in solving problems effectively and have the drive and ambition to successfully deliver a high quality service.

Currently studying a HNC in Building Studies (or equivalent), and CSCS Certification will be essential, as well as good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

Site Managers (including assistant level)

We have a number of exciting opportunities for site managers to join Brymor.

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient running of our sites by effectively managing all resources associated with the site, and to ensure that a quality service and product is provided to the customer.

Some of the key responsibilities for a site manager but not limited to will include the following: -

  • Supervise all labour as necessary and coordinate the activities of trades and subcontractors involved with the site so that all operations are performed efficiently, in accordance to the construction programme, quality and costs required by Brymor.
  • Manage the site and ensure adherence to all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that all work is kept on programme and that all details as specified in the drawings and instructions are adhered to.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety, quality and environmental legislation as well as being compliant with Brymor policies and procedures.
