Pre-Construction Manager

A vacancy has arisen for an Pre-Construction Manager to join the Preconstruction Department.  Reporting to the Pre-construction Director, you will assemble the bid team followed by tender launch and then management of the tendering process comprising site visits, regular internal team review meetings, programme meetings, design meetings and risk workshops.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operate within the agreed Pre-Construction and Estimating Process which is part of the Brymor Technical Works Procedures
  • Develop whenever possible, effective relationships to establish two-way dialog with Clients and their Professional Teams during the tender period.  On D&B projects, arrange to meet the design team.
  • Assess tender documentation and submission requirements and communicate to the bid team
  • Develop the tender strategy to win and continuously monitor
  • Liaise with production throughout the bid to ensure buy-in in respect of supply chain, programme, risk, tender clarifications and preliminaries
  • Ensure a review is carried out of any Contract Conditions, Bonds, PCG, Collateral Warranties and Novation Agreements
  • Ensure the bid team is adequately resourced
  • Proof read the tender submission for grammar, accuracy and completeness of submission
  • Ensure all Brymor Health and Safety standards are considered and applied


A vacancy has arisen for an Estimator to join the Preconstruction Department.  Reporting to the Pre-construction Director, you will produce accurate estimates on time for adjudication and to negotiate successful tenders through to hand-over with the delivery teams, to enable the Company to fulfil its business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and assessing the tender documentation and requirements to enable production of successful tenders
  • Producing accurate net estimates with full breakdowns for adjudication.
  • Identifying and report on risk and opportunity/scope
  • Making sure that tenders take in to account health and safety, quality and environmental legislation as well as compliant with Brymor policies and procedures
  • Seeking value engineering and advantage through tender process
  • Selecting suppliers / sub-contractors from the approved list and obtain quotations on a like for like basis
  • Maintaining communications and consult with the selected suppliers / sub-contractors during the tender period
  • Attending mid-tender meetings with client / professional team and carry out site surveys/visits as required

Quantity Surveyor’s

A vacancy has arisen for Quantity Surveyor’s to assist other members of the surveying team working on Brymor projects.  Reporting to the managing surveyor, you will effectively assist in providing financial and contractual control on all allocated projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To be mentored by a Quantity Surveyor to learn the role, responsibilities and duties of being a Quantity Surveyor
  • To assist in managing Subcontractors/Suppliers accounts, financially & contractually to secure full entitlements under the contract.

To assist in the management and planning of cost and value associated with all types of construction project.

As the successful candidate, it is desirable to have contractor experience with some technical knowledge.  It would also be desirable to have a basic understanding of Health and Safety, Procurement, Planning and Programming procedures and be able to demonstrate an some commercial awareness.  Using communication and negotiation skills, you will be able to assist in solving problems effectively and have the drive and ambition to successfully deliver a high quality service.

Currently studying a HNC in Building Studies (or equivalent), and CSCS Certification will be essential, as well as good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

Site Managers (including assistant level)

We have a number of exciting opportunities for site managers to join Brymor.

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient running of our sites by effectively managing all resources associated with the site, and to ensure that a quality service and product is provided to the customer.

Some of the key responsibilities for a site manager but not limited to will include the following: -

  • Supervise all labour as necessary and coordinate the activities of trades and subcontractors involved with the site so that all operations are performed efficiently, in accordance to the construction programme, quality and costs required by Brymor.
  • Manage the site and ensure adherence to all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that all work is kept on programme and that all details as specified in the drawings and instructions are adhered to.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety, quality and environmental legislation as well as being compliant with Brymor policies and procedures.
