£1.1 Million Project completed in just 7 weeks
After a short tender period and an intense lend-in period, Brymor started work on the refurbishment of Newton Preparatory School, London worth £1.1 Million.
''This exciting and prestigious project is part of the schools improvement programme to enhance the schools existing facilities. This phase was to refurbish the existing Library, ICT Suites, Science Laboratories and staff offices.
The Library was redesigned to incorporate suite purpose made shelving to house the schools large range of books and computer facilities. The Science Laboratories were relocated and redesigned to allow specialist lecture tiered seating with a centre teaching point, along with several ''practical points'' with all the latest facilities which have been designed to meet the schools requirements.
The existing parquet flooring which ran throughout all the areas were covered over with a mixture of vinyl and carpet to suit the acoustic needs of each area, and to enhance the specific activities that take place within that particular area. The ceilings were replaced with a free hanging Ecophon design including wing detail. All areas had new IT points and the latest IT facilities, new high spec lighting as well as new heating systems. All doors were also replaced with ash doors.''
This exciting project was extremely fast-track and was constructed in line with a 7 week construction programme, including evening, night and weekend works. This intense schedule was essential to ensure to this challenging scheme was completed on time and too budget. With the programme being so intense our client took great care in deciding which contractor was suitable for the job and after numerous discussions and interviews Brymor were selected, for not only their wealth of experience and knowledge in fast-track refurbishments but for their teamwork approach and positive attitude.
The success of this project together with the pace and quality of the workmanship was down to the careful management and teamwork approach from Brymor’s dedicated project team consisting of; Andrew Tull Operations Director, Trevor Horsham Contract Manager, Jonathan Gough Contract Surveyor, Gary Edmonds Project Manager, Eddie Walker Site Manager and our experienced, approved subcontractors and suppliers.
