Brymor’s Annual Golf Day
On Friday 18th September a selection of over 30 construction professional enjoyed a full fun packed day of golf.
This annual event once again took place at the Marriott Meon Valley Hotel and Country Club, Southampton and saw representatives from Currie & Brown, Studio Four Architects, SEC, SSE, Aspire Defence, Watts and Partners and Allen Holmes Associates to name but a few – competing in a 9 hole stableford competition in the morning and then an 18 holes Texas Scramble in the afternoon. In addition, there were also prizes for the Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin.
The overall winner for the Stableford Competition was Phil Bell from SSE, who scored a fantastic 23 points and was presented his winner trophy and prize by our Chairman Mr Stephen Morton. Runner-up was our very own Procurement Manager, Roy Harris who also scored 23 points, but was nipped at the post, and lost the trophy on count back.
After lunch, not only our Brymor hosts but also our clients showed their competitive streaks as all teams played to win in the Texas Scramble. Each team kept their cards very close to their chests throughout the 18 holes of golf, and after sweat and tears from all involved the champions were Andrew Isitt’s team consisting of; Gordon Brown Currie & Brown, Ralph Porter Selway Joyce and Chris Moquet of Calford Seaden who sailed home to victory with a score of 59.9.
Brymor have been holding this particular event for numerous years and it was as popular as ever. Stephen Morton Chairman said “We are extremely pleased that once again so many of our most valued and important clients were able to join us, some of whom have been attending for 3 or 4 years. It is always good fun and has an extremely relaxed atmosphere, and although the golf is sometimes not up to par the company is fantastic. I hope we can continue the working relationships which have been created over the years and that we will see you all again next year for another fun packed day. I would also like to thank Kerry Warton, Marketing Manager and Carmen Turpin, HR Manager who organised this event and took care of us all throughout the day to ensure that once again this event was a great success."
