2008 Smile4Rich Gala Dinner
On Friday 24th October Brymor attended the 4th Annual Smile4Rich Charity Gala Dinner, held at NV Southampton, where a record number of guests attended. A total of over £9,500 was raised for the charity, which supports the Wessex Neurological Centre.
Following a champagne reception and superb dinner, Appeal Co-ordinator, Neil Westbrook, made a number of significant announcements. Amongst the announcements was the presentation of the official purchase orders for the building and equipping of a new Paediatric Video-Telemetry Suite at the Centre. As the main contractor for this project, the purchase order for the building works was presented to Brymor's Healthcare Director Chris Kemble, by chair of the charity's Board of Trustees, David d'Arcy-Hughes.
Much to the delight of all those present, Chris Kemble in turn presented a cheque donation of £500 to the appeal on behalf of Brymor. Work has actually already commenced on the project, and it is hoped that the suite, which will be used to assess children with severe Epilepsy for life-changing corrective surgery, will be operational early in the New Year.
Commenting on the evening, Neil Westbrook said, "This event is the highlight of our calendar. It presents an opportunity to thank many of our supporters, both new and old, and to celebrate their achievements. Whilst it is in itself a fundraising event, it's also a chance for people to enjoy a stunning venue, superb food, good company and outstanding cabaret entertainment. And judging by their smiles, everyone had a great time!"
